Reports in Germany emerged last night revealing that Blues starlet, Jude Bellingham’s move to German giants, Borussia Dortmund was complete for a fee of around €23 million on a 5 year contract.
We Are Birmingham believe the fee to be closer to the £27-28 million guaranteed, plus future incentives and a significant sell on fee.
Bellingham has been the name on everyone’s lips this season, emerging from Birmingham’s youth system to impress in the Championship, playing in 35 of Birmingham’s 40 league games thus far, grabbing four goals and three assists in his debut season.
The youngster turned 17 on Monday and is now eligible to sign his first pro-contract. Blues are yet to announce that any such deal has been agreed or signed, however, it is possible that it would likely be a footnote in the imminent official announcement of the transfer to Dortmund. Without this in place the club could be set to miss out on a transfer windfall.
As the 2019/20 season nears it’s conclusion, Bellingham looks set to depart Blues and the youngster has certainly provided smiles on the faces of Blues fans with his natural talent and finesse. Do Dortmund provide the perfect chance for Bellingham to improve, grow and develop his skills on a world stage?
